As a young artist, Hilary Heron (a distant relative of Beckett) won the Mainie Jellett Travel Scholarship and traveled to Paris and other European cities in 1948. When she came to Paris she stayed briefly with Beckett and his partner Dechevaux-Dumensil, before finding her own accommodation.
