Autograph Manuscript Signed, thrice, complete draft of his essay "Laughter," with numerous holograph deletions and a few additions throughout, published in 1921 as part of his collection entitled And Even Now. Signed in the byline at the top of first page, additionally initialed after each of two holograph notes on the first page: "To Printer: Please follow my punctuation exactly, throughout," and "But put single quotation marks. Double ones only for quotes-within-quotes." 8 1/2 pages, small folio, written on rectos only; paperclip stains at upper edge of first and terminal pages, small hole at upper left throughout with minor loss to text, minor even toning and scattered soiling to first page, horizontal fold.
