Signed and inscribed "I treasure your card but can you identify this type?" in pen and ink, lower right on the printed greeting side of the print. A good impression of this very scarce and early print.
Prescott states "This is one of four rare Christmas cards that exist as fine art prints." According to the artist Leo Lionni, Shahn personally printed this holiday greeting card. The image has been used also in a poster, a print without text and a book illustration. Prescott 7.
