BEN-ZION ZUCKERMAN JUDISCHER KUNSTABEND. 1922.
19 3/4x27 1/2 inches. Victoria, Charlottenburg.
Condition B+: minor tears and creases at edges; creases in image. Paper.
A predominantly typographic poster, in Yiddish and German, promoting an evening of Jewish Art; featuring music, art and cabaret. The small vignette was designed by the artist whose work was being displayed that evening. Although post World War One, this poster clearly reflects elements of the Berlin Secession, which came to an end in 1918, and speaks strongly to the continuing scope and strength of the Jewish artistic community which was such an integral part of that movement.
