An adaptation by Barker (fl. 1540-76) of La Nobilità delle Donne, Lodovico Domenichi''s 1549 work in praise of women, "which he altered to contain considerable autobiographical and specifically English material" (ODNB). Barker''s version remained in manuscript until its publication here.
