first edition, first issue. signed by bernacchi. The signature is on the title page and is dated March 8, 1935. The author served as the magnetical observer on Borchgrevink's Southern Cross expedition. The first edition, first issue of his account of that expedition is very difficult to obtain with the green binding in good condition.
