Condition A-: creases in margins and image; restoration along vertical and horizontal folds. In the 1950s and 1960s, with France continuing its postwar rebuilding boom, Villemot designed many posters promoting public investment in state works. His calls to raise money via a bond issue, covered areas as varied as coal, trains and gas. Every year between 1961 and 1969, he designed a separate poster for the French National Electricity Company. Each is a futuristic, colorful vision of progress. This one seems to represent a giant sign, in which the colorful lights are emerging from the background one at a time. Villemot 158.
