BERNARD VILLEMOT (1911-1989) FRIGIDAIRE. 1956. 44 1/2x61 inches, 113x155 cm. PEMA, Paris. Condition B+: vertical and horizontal folds; minor abrasions in image. Together with Savignac, Villemot was the most prolific poster designer of the French post-war generation. He created big campaigns for Perrier, Bally Shoes and Orangina. Beginning in the late '40s, he began designing commercial posters for French movies, Air France and Unic. Although these works were produced long before the artist reached his mature and recognizable style, one can see already that he is beginning to simplify his designs and develop his unique look.
