Photograph Signed and Inscribed, in French, by the actress and 14 members of her company, group portrait by John Zybach showing them in raincoats before the partially-frozen Niagara Falls: "To the very friendly Mr. Shoffeal Tremein[?] / from Sarah Bernhardt and"--followed by the signature of Suzanne Seylor. Inscribed on the mount, below and, vertically, at either side of the image. Additionally signed by the photographer, in pencil, lower left. Approximately 6 1/2x7 inches (image), approximately 9x11 inches overall; top of mount and photograph torn away (truncating top of image and one signature). sold as is. [Niagara Falls, 1911]

In the winter of 1910-11, the surface of the Niagara River froze sufficiently to allow the brave to walk between its Canadian and U.S. shores. In late November of 1910, Bernhardt and her cast performed at the Toronto Princess Theater, not far from the falls.
