Additional Details

Scarce separately issued seventeenth century English world map. The map was offered for sale as a separate sheet and within a composite world atlas offered for sale by Berry. Of the latter, Phillips writes: "This collection of English maps by William Berry is sometimes known as the English Sanson atlas. The maps were published separately at various dates and the atlas was issued without a title page. There are only two other copies of this atlas known, one in the King's collection in the British Museum, where it is regarded as one of the rarest of English atlases."
