Oblong 4to, 190x220 mm, contemporary vellum; somewhat unevenly browned throughout, offsetting from color on maps to facing text leaves, text leaf facing the polar projected world map is defective at fore-edge and lacking some text, color on maps beginning to oxidize. The atlas contains 5 world maps, including 3 of the ancient world after Pomponius Mela, Poseidonius, and Ptolemaeus. The modern world maps include a polar projected double-hemispheric and a double-hemispheric stereographic projection. All maps in the atlas were engraved by Melchior Tavernier and are dated 1628. The atlas was reprinted by Boiseau in 1645.
