"Accounts having been received that several English privateers cruizing in the Mediterranean visit many neutral ships from the Levant arriving from places supposed to be infected with the plage, and which it may on that account be dangerous to communicate withal immediately: Information is therefore given you hereof that you may direct all the requisite precautions to be used on occasion of meeting with any such ships returning from those seas."
