". . . at present very busily employ'd upon a set of Copper Plates for Liddell's Lapland Tour . . . Mr. Tunstall, in a letter to us says that the drawings by Mr. Bayley are better done than this print. I cannot help differing in my opinion with him for I think the drawings . . . very faulty and out of joint . . . I would strongly recommend them being engraved on copper with aqua tinta, which secret as well as some others we have discovered, since I began the new employment of engraving in that way. Is the cross-hatching a tedious and laborious business? If so, I should think the discovery of no value, as every effect can be produced by the other way . . ."<
