Later edition of the Geneva revision of Pierre-Robert Olivetan's 1535 translation, the first French Protestant version of the Bible, which "exercised no slight influence on the English Bible of 1537, known as 'Matthew's Bible' . . . In its later form, as the French Geneva version, it influenced still more strongly the English Geneva Bible"--Darlow & Moule 3710 note.
