The text follows the Vulgate edited with notes by Robert Estienne, which was proscribed by the theological faculties of Louvain and Paris and placed on the first papal Index. censored copy, with scattered chapter summaries and sidenotes scored, and an inscription on A4v by the notary Baldassare Zamparrone attesting to the changes made on behalf of the Inquisition, signed by him and the censor Salvatore Mangiavacca, dated Palermo, 30 April 1555.
