Third edition of Poole's 1669-76 magnum opus, a digest of the commentaries of some 90 scholars contained in the 9-volume Critici Sacri of 1660, presented in the order of Bible texts. From the collections of Wolferdus Seneguerdius (1646-1724), professor of physics at Leiden, with his contemporary ownership inscriptions; Philip Van Swinden, with later 18th-century bookplate; the Reverend James Thomas Law (1790-1876), signature dated 1815; and Wells Theological College, 19th-century bookplates (gift from Law).
