Additional Details

one of 250 copies of the book and a lovely example from the guild of women binders. The front cover contains a central cartouche enclosing Stephania and Emperor Otho III, the date 1897 in the upper left corner, and the initials ASM in the upper right. The rear cover depicts Stephania and Gerbert (Pope Sylvester II who was Otho's tutor); green watered silk endpapers with morocco turn-ins containing hand-painted circles along the edges.
