Scarce map of Pennsylvania and New Jersey engraved with distinctive detail. Almost a curiosity, it is associated with Biorck's "Dissertatio Gradualis de Plantatione Ecclesiae Svecanae in America", one of the earliest books on the history of seventeenth-century Swedish settlements in Mid-Atlantic America. Unlike copies of the map traditionally bound in that book, which are folded or double-page, the present example bears no folds suggesting it was perhaps separately published or joined with a larger-than-usual copy of the Disseratio.
