Condition B: restored losses in margins and corners; restoration along vertical and horizontal folds. Campbell was an American-born artist who studied in Paris with Whistler. He settled in California where in 1902 was a co-founder of the California Society of Artists. Primarily regarded as a painter, he was also a member of New York's Society of Illustrators and designed magazine covers, advertisements and several posters for Scribner's. Keay p.49.
