BOB DYLAN

"Can You Please Crawl Out Your Window," 8 inch acetate record.
8" acetate demonstration record of Bob Dylan's 1965 single 'Can You Please Crawl Out Your Window', cut for Warner Bros. Music, his music publishing company. No music on B-side. 1965.

Primarily utilized between the 1930s and 50s, acetate record production involves using a cutting lathe to carve out grooves from a lacquer-coated aluminum disc, rather than the later, popular method of pressing a heated vinyl disc between two stampers. Acetate records were not intended for repeated play on turntables, and were primarily used for the purpose of verifying a recording's viability for pressing vinyl records or in the process of creating the stampers for vinyl record production.

This acetate is a demonstration record, made to present to artists or record producers who might be interested in recording a version of one of Dylan's songs, and may have been chosen over a vinyl record for its superior audio quality.

With- Recordmecca's written lifetime guarantee of authenticity, signed by Jeff Gold, who appraised The Bob Dylan Archive for Dylan's management.
