BONFILS, FELIX (active 1867-1885) Album entitled "Photographies de Terre Sainte" by F.F. Marroum consisting of images by Bonfils, with 48 photographs including views of Jaffa, Ramleh, Bethlehem, Jerico, and the Jordan River along with elaborate mosques, tombs, the Damascas Gate, bedouines and women dressed in traditional garb. Albumen prints, 9x11 inches (22.9x28 cm.), and the reverse, with Bonfils' name on most, along with a caligraphic or label caption in the plate. Oblong folio, wooden boards with a inlaid mosaic pattern, decorative border carving and titled "Jerusalem," in English and Hebrew, in ink; backstrip worn, corners chipped. 1860s-1870s
