Second edition of Bordone's important Isolario, or atlas of islands. The earliest printed Isolario was published by Bartolommeo dalli Sonetti circa 1485 and describes the islands of the eastern Mediterranean. Bordone's atlas is therefore the second printed Isolario. However, it is on a much broader scale, expanded to chart the islands of the entire globe, including parts of the New World. Shirley 59; Burden 8.
