Additional Details

Fine portfolio of the ivory sculptures of Belgian artist Francis van Bossuit, sketched by Barent Graat and engraved by Matthias Pool. Text in French, Dutch and English. Bossuit's work as described in the introductory text of the book "gave such proofs of his art, to the wonder & admiration of all that saw it, that he by his ingenious & free manner of managing the hard ivory, could work upon it as if it was wax & to which he gave such a softness that few of the most ingenious of that art could comprehend how, or in what manner, it was done."
