Lots 102, 128-29, 159-60, and 170 from Vernon Merritt III (1940-2000), a staff photographer at Life Magazine from 1966-72. He was gifted these prints by photographer-friends Bourke-White, Smith and Eisenstaedt. This image is reproduced on the front cover of The Photographs of Margaret Bourke-White, and on page 90.
