Additional Details

This image was reproduced in a story in the inaugural issue of LIFE magazine on November 23, 1936. Entitled "Franklin Roosevelt's Wild West" the story featured images about life in the town of New Deal. "The girl at the bar who works as a waitress ('hasher') takes her child to work with her because she can't leave her at home. She sits on the bar while her mother kids with the customers."
