complete set of bradley's self-published magazine. Bradley: His Book enjoyed incredible success: The first number of the magazine, published in an edition of ten thousand, sold out before the day of publication as did many subsequent issues. Unfortunately, its popularity and demands became too great for Bradley. The magazine weathered a temporary setback in August of 1896 caused by a problematic contributor and then, a few months later, Bradley suffered a physical and nervous collapse. With no one trained to carry on the press, he was forced to cease publication. These issues contain some of his best work including the Beauty and the Beast illustrations in Volume 1, no. 4, his final and best work in the curvilinear Art Nouveau style. Koch, pages 71-98.
