Samuel Joseph Brown was born in Wilmington, NC in 1907. He studied at the Pennsylvania Museum of Art and taught in Philadelphia public schools for 35 years. He participated in the WPA from 1933-44 and his work was praised by Eleanor Roosevelt. This piece is from the "One World" project and shows the harmony which could exist in an integrated school.<
