A rare poster promoting the "1st Annual Punk Magazine Awards Ceremony," held at Club Hollywood, NYC, October 13, 1978. The tongue-in-cheek roster of scheduled appearances wasn't in fact all that far off-with Blondie, the Dead Boys, the Ramones, Lou Reed, Lester Bangs, Harvey Keitel, Peter Wolf, Malcolm McLaren, Jerry Nolan, Danny Fields and several prominent New York DJs, including Meg Griffin, Jane Hamburger and Vin Scelsa all in attendance. This ill-fated fundraiser was held in a disco the night after Sid Vicious' girlfriend Nancy Spungen was found murdered at the Chelsea Hotel, which made this Friday the 13th "gala," a very difficult evening to celebrate the Punk world.
