Additional Details

Uncommon mapping of the region, with much information on tides, currents and rocks, produced for ship captains trying to navigate the waters. Bryce, a well-known geometrician, surveyed the region at his own expense over a three year period. The map was subsequently published by the Philosophical (now Royal) Society of Edinburgh and was used by Arrowsmith in his mapping of the region. We could find no copies of this scarce map coming to auction. This example in need of some expert (and worthwhile) restoration.
