Additional Details

The first title is a translation of the second volume (of 2) of Burnet's Telluris theoria sacra. "The Sacred Theory of the Earth was Burnet's attempt to combine the idealism of the Cambridge Platonists, Scripture, and an explanation of the features of the earth's surface in order to account for the past and present states of the earth and to offer a prophecy about its future" (DSB). The translation of the first volume, on the Deluge and Paradise, originally appeared in 1690. DSB II, 613; Wing B5954, B5945.
