Additional Details

"Enclosed is an important statement of my dealings with Luckett & a few questions arising out of it.
"It may be material to conclude him as to the pay? of money to me as in qu[estion] 1st for [Thomas?] Prather will prove the pay! to him. If S[amuel] N[oland] L[uckett] should see the force of the qu., he will evade and equivocate. He charges the bills, but gives no credit for them.
"The charge of 1400 Dr Dam's[?] is quite inadmissible as he advanced nothing. From a review of the transaction & without the aid of papers, I am persuaded that this man is several thousand dollars in my debt."
The enclosure: "1. Have you at any time paid A[aron] B[urr] any money except what is charged in that acc't.
"2. To whom (Prather) was the bill of 4500 Dr sold--was the am't paid to you--was it in cash or note of hand. . . .
"6. What was the am't of the bill left with you by Mr. Blennerhasset[t]--did you pay him any thing at the time he gave you the bill. . . ."
Harman Blennerhassett (1764-1831) was a lawyer and Virginia plantation owner who became implicated in the treasonous plot allegedly designed and directed by Aaron Burr to liberate the Louisiana Territory from the U.S. by conducting a military expedition supplied by the British. In 1807, Burr was tried for treason in Virginia for the alleged plot and acquitted.
