Two folio format leaves from the first English book printed on English-made paper: B2 from book vii of the Tabula with inked annotations, damaged upper outside corner damaged and neatly repaired, short tear at bottom margin; and a leaf from Liber Octavus without signature mark, text beginning "stronge than the other angles as the same," and ending, "aryse and dystourble the ayre," very nicely preserved; the two leaves housed in the leaf book, Three Lions and the Cross of Lorraine: Bartholomaeus Anglicus, John of Trevisa, John Tate, Wynkyn de Worde, and De Proprietatibus Rerum, Newtown, PA; Bird & Bull Press, 1992, with essays by Howell Heaney, Lotte Hellinga, & Richard Hills; limited edition, copy number 51 of 138 copies, bound in publisher's half russet morocco by Campbell-Logan Bindery, nicely preserved; the leaves measure 11 7/8 x 8 in.
