First edition, limited issue, large quarto; number 8 of 15 wide margined copies on Japon with an extra proof suite on Chine and a small original color sketch of a princess looking demurely at a caged bird, doubly initialed by Bonfils in ink on the colophon; illustrated title and 7 full color pochoir plates, followed by the additional proof sheets (14 in total); loose as issued with the front board only of the original black paper-covered portfolio featuring a mounted color illustration; contained in a custom green cloth box with gilt-stamped morocco spine label; 16 1/2 x 13 3/8 in.
