Breviarum Romanum. Four thick octavo volumes, each one containing a breviary for a season of the year; all bound in full uniform contemporary red Spanish morocco over wooden boards, elaborately tooled in gilt, with gilt and gauffered edges, and silk bookmarks in red, green, white, and blue, the eight bookmark ribbons joined with a chevron woven top piece worked in metallic threads; each volume housed in separate contemporary uniform full marbled sheepskin two-part slipcases tooled in gilt on the spines, and lined with marbled paper; the set ex libris Fray Eugenio Hernandez, with his signature in each volume (Hernandez's signature graces other 18th century examples of fine Spanish binding); the bindings in exceptionally good condition, slipcases with minor scuffing only; the text printed in red and black, illustrated with engravings; 8 3/4 x 5 3/4 x 12 in. of shelf space.
