First edition, three volumes, octavo; with 22 pages of ads at rear of volume 1 and a half-title in volume 3; illustrated with 5 full-page color chromolithographs and 8 tinted plates, some with original tissue guards preserved, 1 black-and-white plate, 3 plans (two folding), and a folding map; bound in blue publisher's cloth stamped with an elaborate black decorative border, spine gilt-lettered, brown coated endpapers (plate versos occasionally foxed; lacking an ad leaf; foxing mostly concentrated at gutters and margins, a few spots; volumes rubbed, extremities bumped); all volumes contained in a custom black cloth slipcase; 8 3/4 x 5 1/2 in.
