first edition. inscribed and signed by calder in blue ink, to friends Henry Varnum Poor, the artist, and his wife, the writer Bessie Breuer Poor, thanking them for "a fine play" and dated 9 July 1948. This work also contains the first appearance of Sartre's essay, "Les Mobiles de Calder," in tandem with a translation of Sweeney's text into French.
