One in a series of early posters promoting the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph company, highlighting many different aspects of life that could be facilitated by using a telephone. At the begining of the 20th century, amateur golf competitions were extremely popular. So much so that Samuel F. B. Morse, who founded Pebble Beach, set out to steal the California State Amateur competition by building a more challenging and more beautiful course.
