Calvin Burnett has had a long career as an artist, graphic designer, illustrator and art instructor in Boston and Cambridge, MA. After naval service, he focused on woodcuts while studying the German Expressionists and printmaking for his Master of Fine Arts degree at Boston University. He taught at the De Cordova Museum, Lincoln, MA, and the Massachusetts College of Art, Boston. He also helped the artist John Wilson start the National Center for Afro-American Artists in Roxbury, MA. His art works are found in the collections of Harvard University, Cambridge, Howard University, Washington, DC, The Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston, and the Fogg Museum of Art, Boston.
