FROM THE PAUL-ÉMILE PISSARRO COLLECTION PRESENTED TO HIM BY THE SITTER CAMILLE PISSARRO
Convalescence (Lucien Pissarro).

Lithograph on tan chine appliqué, circa 1897. 323x232 mm; 12 3/4x8 1/4 inches, wide (full ?) margins. Numbered 2/11 in pencil, lower right. With the artist's initials ink stamp (Lugt supplement 613e, lower left recto). Annotated "Convalescence 2/11--To Paulémile Pissarro from Lucien Pissarro" in pencil, lower margin. Pale time stain, the edges of the China paper discolored, reinforced razor tear at the extreme lower edge of the sheet. A good impression of this extremely scarce print.

The sitter is the artist's son Lucien. Paulémile Pissarro was Lucien's brother (see lot 470).

According to Delteil/Cailac, there are no lifetime impressions of this print. The zinc plate was found in 1922 and 11 impressions werre printed. Delteil 192.
