CAMILLE PISSARRO
Paysanne portant une corbeille.

Relief print on a zinc plate with hand coloring in watercolor, with pen and ink sketches, verso, late 1890s 128x125 mm; 5x4 7/8 inches, wide (full ?) margins. The only recorded impression. Initialed in pencil, lower left.

Published in Cailac, supplement to Delteil, Print Collector's Quarterly, volume 19, 1932.

The artist's oldest son, Lucien Pissarro (1863-1944) a noted printer, wood engraver and book designer, helped his father make this relief print, more of an experimental work than an editioned multiple. The elder Pissarrp then hand colored the print in watercolor creating a unique impression of this exceedingly scarce print. Delteil 196.
