Additional Details

Alfred S. Campbell was a photographer and entrepreneur. Born in England, he emigrated to the U.S. and managed Napoleon Sarony's studio. He founded Alfred S. Campbell Art Company in Elizabeth NJ, which was also known as AS Campbell Art Company. He then opened Campbell Studios, in New York City, with Rudolf Eickemeyer. Campbell's fine art photographs are in the Alfred Stieglitz Collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
