Reproduction of a collaborative drawing by him and Milton Caniff, cartoon showing Caniff's Lace standing beside Sansone's GI Wolf, inscribed to Camp Barkeley News and signed, "Cpl Sansone." 14x11 1/4 inches; pin holes at each corner, faint scattered soiling. Screentone applied to GI Wolf and ink embellishment of Lace likely by Sansone. [New York], 1944.
Caniff and Sansone collaborated on strips during WWII while serving with the Camp Newspaper Service at Yank magazine in New York City, occasionally sending personalized messages on printed cartoons like those contained in this lot.
