This handsome study was included in the French journal, Galerie Contemporaine, in 1878. Baudelaire (1821-1867) was one of the most prominent French Symbolist poets. He wrote "The Flowers of Evil" and "Paris Spleen," and was best known for his intense psychological scrutiny of the darker side of humanity.<
