CARLOH (active 1978-1982)

Archive of 44 erotic and sensitively rendered figural studies in the original presentation binder.
The images included in this archive are fine art works by a talented and sensitive photographer. Both erotic and emotive, the figural studies include full length nudes, the body in motion, and detailed studies. The presentation and laid in ephemera suggest a professional practitioner interested in both exhibition and editorial work, and are reminiscent in many ways of his contemporary, Robert Mapplethorpe. Silver prints, the images measuring 346x254 mm; 13 5/8x10 inches, and slightly smaller, and the reverse, the sheets 355x279 mm; 14x11 inches, each with Carloh's signature, date, and copyright, and all but two with a title, in ink on recto, and nearly all with numeric notations or printing notations in pencil and approximately 9 with Carloh's stamp on verso; each photograph enclosed in a plastic sleeve, with a sequential number sticker applied to the lower corner. Small folio, black leatherette with a zipper and handle and metal coil binding; with a taped business card to the inside cover. 1980-1981.

WITH--A Certificate of Merit from the Salmagundi Club awarded to Carloh as part of the 1st Annual Photography & Sculpture Exhibition in May 1982, along with a photocopied exhibition check list of the other participants. Also with two mounted copies of reproduced work in Honcho and Mandate magazines (both 1978).
