Another Blue Black Boy triptych is in the collection of the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York. The Whitney's triptych was shown in the recent traveling retrospective Carrie Mae Weems: Three Decades of Photography and Video organized by the Frist Center for the Visual Arts, and including the Cleveland Museum of Art and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum. A detail of a triptych was also reproduced on the front cover of the catalogue, Carrie Mae Weems, and included in the 1993-95 National Museum of Women in the Arts traveling exhibition. The artist printed another edition of 5 in 1997, but of a single image, and not as a triptych.
