This previously unrecorded image is for a region in the Belgian Congo that no longer bears that name. Now in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, situated near what is currently the Kahuzi-Biega National Park, the area is divided into Nord Kivu, Sud Kivu and Maniema. The region is known for its wildlife, including the eastern lowland gorillas, one of which is depicted here.
