Casper Banjo was born in Memphis, but gained regard as an artist in Oakland, CA, where in 2008, he was shot by a police officer under mysterious circumstances--the final statement said that Banjo was holding a replica gun.
Banjo's primary motif was a brick wall, the solid foundation that provides structure to his compositions. While often the focal point of his works, brick imagery still appears in this musical duo, decorating the sleeves of the bass player, lending a cohesive element to Banjo's artwork.
