CH. CESBRUNLA BAULE LES PINS. Circa 1925.
41 1/4x28 3/4 inches. Societe Immobiliere de le Baule les Pins, Paris.
Condition B+: repaired tears through top margin.
The name Baule comes from Bole<>, meaning a low-lying, marine grassland, which was what this stretch of land along France's western coast was until the 1880s when pine trees were planted along the shore to secure the dunes from further erosion. The result is a 9 kilometer long beach bordered by a pine forest. Here the bay, the beach, the pines and the town are all visible, along with a mother and her daughter communing with nature.
