one of only 50 copies on hollande signed by chahine from a total edition of 75. Richly printed by A. Routy in soft hues with a richness and brilliant contrast, the prints reflect Chahine's pictorial journey in Central Italy and Venice. They contain his most beautiful views and impressions of life on the canal and the Umbrian countryside. The trip was a gift from Chahine's friend and publisher, Edmond Sagot, who sent the heartbroken artist to Italy to recover following the death of his fiancée, Mary Jacobson (see previous lot).
