Additional Details

a newly recorded cartoon by addams. Recently vetted by the Tee and Charles Addams Foundation, the work was determined to be either a gift to Davidson or a special project at Doubleday for in-house usage as Addams was a close friend of John Turner Sargent, Sr. the CEO of Doubleday from 1963 to 1978. Another scenario may have been a cartoon idea suggested by Davidson for Addams that was ultimately rejected by The New Yorker or other publishers, and so he made a final copy for Raymond Davidson. They could find no record of its being published externally from Doubleday. The work will be included in their ongoing Charles Addams Catalogue Raisonné project.
